GovAI can be a very powerful tool helping you craft new policy at your organization, this applies to both internal and external policies.

Here are some example of how GovAI can help:

  1. Research: Run jurisdictional scans by researching existing policies in nearby (or faraway) locations. Example prompt "Summarize the main components of policies regulating short term rentals in nearby jurisdictions"

  2. New Policy: Create new policy drafts to get a sense for what is typically included in policies of interest. Example prompt "Create an electronic signatures policy for a small town"

  3. Updating Existing Policies: Refine existing or new policies to uncover weaknesses, ambiguities, or even impacts on citizens. Example prompt "Given this policy [copy and paste / attach a file] what are some potential impacts on low income residents"

  4. Policy Launch Preparation: Run roleplaying scenarios to uncover possible reactions to new or updated policies. Example prompt "[Upload policy file] You are an employee who has a hybrid work schedule, you work 15 miles away from the office, how would you react to this new return to office policy?" Follow up with "How am I able to respond to these concerns?"

  5. Comparing Policies: Compare two or more policies against each other to uncover differences. Example prompt "[Upload policy documents] Compare and contrast these policies, highlight areas of potential confusion for employees as well any weaknesses and provide suggestions to shore up the weaknesses"
