Data Shield Alert
Data Shield Alert is a notification tool that lets you stay informed when sensitive data is detected in user prompts through Data Shield Detect. You can set up alerts to be sent to any number of email addresses.
How It Works
When Data Shield identifies content flagged as a Risk, an alert will be sent notifying the recipient that Data Shield has detected a Risk. Only elements classified as 'Risk' by Data Shield are eligible for alert generation.

Risk Alert Mechanism:
It’s important to note that you will only receive a risk alert if you select the Keep option. This is because risk detection occurs based on the content that ultimately leaves the pre-scan stage and enters the post-scan stage. When you choose Substitute or Redact, the sensitive address information is either masked or removed before the risk scan occurs. As a result, there is no longer any sensitive data present to trigger an alert.
In contrast, if the Keep option is selected, the data (for ex. Address) remains unchanged, and the detection mechanism will flag this as a risk, generating the appropriate alert for your team.
Alert Configuration
To configure a new alert:
Navigate to the Data Shield main page and scroll to the bottom
Enter the email address of the recipient.
Choose the alert frequency from the following options:
Immediate – Sends an alert as soon as a risk is detected.
Daily – Batches and sends alerts once per day.
Weekly – Sends a summary of alerts once per week.
Click Create to activate the alert.
Additional Notes
Alerts are only triggered for items flagged as 'Risk' by the Data Shield scanning engine.
You can manage and disable alerts at any time.
Multiple alert recipients can be configured, depending on your organization’s settings.
